Turning End-of-Life Tyres Into Real Solutions
About Us
Our Purpose
Every year, more than 7.75 million tyres reach the end of their life in New Zealand. Treadlite exists to make sure they don’t become an environmental burden.
We are New Zealand’s largest tyre collector and the only business managing the entire process end to end — from nationwide collection through to processing and the manufacture of premium, NZ-made recycled rubber products.
Proudly 100% NZ owned and operated, we collect more than 2.4 million tyres each year from over 2,000 customers, transforming them into 5,000+ tonnes of sustainable products annually.
Our Story
Treadlite was founded in 2019 by a group of Kiwi mates who saw an industry struggling with poor practices and little accountability for environmental outcomes.
What began as a mission to clean up excess tyres has grown — even through challenging economic times — into one of New Zealand’s largest and most trusted tyre collection networks.
Today, we lead the way in tyre recycling, working alongside innovative businesses and organisations that share our vision of a fully circular economy.
From collecting tyres to surfacing thousands of horse arenas across Australasia, our journey has been driven by our people, our partners and our customers. We’re immensely proud of what we’ve achieved — and we’re only just getting started.
Next stop: incorporating recycled rubber into New Zealand roading materials.
